ingredients
good olive oil
1 pound ground veal
1 pound bulk Italian sausage (no skin)
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
12 roma or cherry tomatoes, chopped
8 Italian hoagie rolls
butter
garlic powder
grated Parmesan cheese
shredded Mozzarella or provolone cheese
directions
In a large skillet coated in olive oil, brown the veal and sausage together. Add chopped garlic and onion. Cook until translucent. Add pepper and tomatoes. Simmer covered about 10-15 minutes.
Butter your hoagie rolls. Sprinkle garlic powder and shredded mozzarella or provolone on top. Broil until golden brown and cheese is melted.
To assemble sandwiches, scoop the sausage mixture on the roll. Sprinkle little Parmesan cheese on top. You can also garnish these with some chopped fresh basil.
