Recipes don't get much easier than this, folks. Ground beef with sloppy joe sauce makes a simple and classic topping for burger buns. Ever seen an unhappy kid with a sloppy Joe?
serves/makes:
ready in: under 30 minutes
ingredients
1 1/2 pound very lean ground beef 1 can Manwich sloppy joe sauce
directions
Brown the beef (I like to leave large chunks of meat together) and drain if there is any grease after cooking. Add the can of sauce and simmer on low heat about 10 minutes. Serve on fresh hamburger buns. Add some oven fries and a tossed salad and you have a low-fat meal that any kid would like.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Ranking #1 in nearly every "favorite cookie" poll, the chocolate chip cookie is pretty much the go-to cookie of choice for both kids and grownups alike.
