Casa De La Paz's Coffee Cake

ingredients
CAKE
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
1 can cherry pie filling*
STREUSEL TOPPING
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 9" deep dish glass pie pans.
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add extract.
Combine flour and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Divide evenly in two pans. Spread pie filling on top to within 1/2 inch of edge.
Combine the ingredients for the topping and cut together until crumbly. Sprinkle streusel topping over fruit. Bake for 33 minutes.
* Blueberry may also be used. Omit almond extract and use 1/2 tsp. vanilla instead.
