Want a never-fail baby back rib recipe? You've got it! A simple rub seasons the ribs and your favorite bbq sauce adds the final flavor punch. These can be cooked on the grill or in the oven.
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3 pounds baby back pork ribs
water
1 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
Preheat a grill to medium heat or heat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
Place the ribs on heavy duty aluminum foil (cut the ribs into sections if desired). Rub the brown sugar mixture on all sides of the ribs, coating evenly.
Bring the sides of the foil up around the ribs, leaving a small section open. Add 1/4 cup water to each foil packet, being careful not to pour the water over the ribs. Seal the foil by folding the edges over tightly.
Place the ribs on the grill and cook for 45-60 minutes, covered.
Remove the ribs from the foil and place directly on the grill. Cook for 45-60 minutes longer.
Baste the ribs with the barbecue sauce and cook for 15 minutes, turning the ribs every 5 minutes and basting with more sauce.
If cooking in the oven, place the ribs on a rimmed baking sheet or broiler pan and bake at 450 degrees F for 45-60 minutes. Remove the ribs from the foil and continue cooking as directed for grilling (placing the ribs on the baking sheet or broiler pan and then proceeding to baste while baking).

I'm a little disappointed that this was considered a 5 star recipe. I've done many rib recipes and this rates a 4 at best. It was nice, but that's all.

These were D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!. Wasn't sure exactly when hubby would get home for supper, so I cooked as directed for 30 minutes and then let them sit in the oven with the heat turned off. When ready, I opened the foil wrap, basted the ribs and grilled. Perfection. I think you could safely alter the seasonings to your taste. They were moist, tender, and tasty. My hubby loved them and so did I. Thank you for this keeper!!

This was my first attempt at bbq ribs, and it feels like I hit a grand slam home run on my first major league at bat. The recipe was easy, and the ribs were tender and delicious. Did not need to boil them first. Instead of plain water, I used 1/2 orange juice, a bit of lime and 2 tbsp of my barbeque sauce. Yummy.
