Sopapillas
INGREDIENTS:
1 package dry yeast
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 tablespoon sugar
shortening
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
DIRECTIONS:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar and shortening. Mix in salt and flour. Knead 2 minutes. Let rise 1 hour.
Roll 1/4-inch thick and cut in triangles. Fry in fat heated to 420 degrees F degrees.
Dust with sugar if desired and serve with honey.
