ingredients

3 cups cooked diced chicken
1 jar (20 ounce size) salsa
1 can corn, drained
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 package Jiffy cornbread mix

directions

Place chicken in a large bowl. Add the salsa, corn, cheese, and mix well.

Mix the cornbread according to the package directions. Mix with the sour cream, cumin and garlic powder.

Pour chicken mixture in pan. Top with cornbread mixture. Bake until cornbread is done.

    I am a bit confused. This recipe seems so very simple, but, pardon me if this sounds a bit dumb of me, does the sour cream,cumin and garlic powder get mixed in with the cornbread after the cornbread is already prepared per package directions, or does the sour cream, cumin and garlic powder get mixed in with the chicken mixture? Seems a bit confused to me, maybe not to someone else. In any way, this recipe sound like one I would like to try but I want to be sure and prepare it properly. Thank you, in advance, for your help. CJ

    • The sour cream, cumin and garlic powder are mixed into the cornbread batter.
