Nutty Basil Pesto

This version of pesto calls for miso which has lots of concentrated flavor in it. If you don't have miso on hand, try substituting tahini for it.

ingredients
5 cups basil leaves, tightly packed and coarsely chopped
1/2 cup pine nuts
3/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons brown rice miso
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, peeled
directions
Fit a food processor with a metal blade. Add all the ingredients. Process the pesto until smooth.
Use immediately or refrigerate, in an airtight jar, for up to 3 days.
