Tamarind Glazed Beef Sirloin Tips

ingredients
1 pound sirloin tips
1 shallot, finely chopped
2 tablespoons tamarind concentrate
1/4 cup dark rum
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 canned chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, sauce reserved, pepper finely chopped
1 teaspoon asian sesame oil
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup white sesame seeds for garnish
directions
Slice the sirloin against the grain into 4-ounce portions.
Combine the shallots, tamarind paste, rum, soy sauce, brown sugar, chipotle peppers, 1 teaspoon reserved adobo sauce and sesame oil in a nonreactive medium bowl. Whisk ingredients to blend in the brown sugar. Add salt and pepper. Add beef, cover and refrigerate 2 to 6 hours.
Heat a gas or charcoal grill. Grill portions 6 minutes on each side. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
