Serves/Makes:   2 dozen

  

Ingredients:
***Dough***
3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup flour
***Filling***
1 egg
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 dash salt
2/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 cup pecan halves

Directions:

To make the dough: Beat cream cheese and butter until well-combined.

Add flour and mix until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 to 60 minutes.

Heat oven to 325 degrees.

To make the filling: Beat egg, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, salt and chopped pecans until well blended.

Press chilled dough into ungreased 1-inch mini-muffin tins to form a crust. Spoon filling into each. Top each tassie with a pecan half. Bake 25 minutes.

Tassies should fall right out of pan. If any are stuck in the pan, run a dull butterknife around the edges.
