This is a great recipe for sweet potatoes when you don't want them candied or as a pie. Try these wedges as a healthy and more delicious alternative to regular fries.
2 medium sweet potatoes, cut into wedges
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.
Combine the sweet potatoes, cinnamon, seasoned salt, cumin, black pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl or plastic zip-top bag. Coat the sweet potatoes in the spice mixture.
Place the sweet potato wedges on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees F for 20 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are the desired doneness. Turn the wedges once during the baking time so they brown evenly.
Serve hot.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

Easy and Yummy! Instead of wedges; I find it easier to slice up potato rounds. Another alternative is to substitute butternut squash for the sweet potato. This variety of squash is hard to slice but my grocery store, Whole Foods, sells the squash already diced. I just toss all of the ingredients into my clay roaster with a gentle quick mix and let the oven do the work. The longer I roast it, the better.
