- #9568
ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
2 cups peanuts
1 teaspoon baking soda
directions
In a medium fry pan, combine sugar and corn syrup. Stir over high heat until well blended and mixture starts to bubble. Add peanuts and continue stirring until the mixture gets a nice brown appearance.
Add baking soda and stir until all the bubbles are out of the mix. Spread on a greased cookie sheet and let cool. Break into pieces when the brittle is solid.
RJ's Note: Aunt Gonda stayed with us for a couple of days (17-18 December, 1998) and she showed us how to make her famous Peanut Brittle. Our first batch lasted one day!

Nutritional data has not been calculated yet.A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

I made two batches of this peanut brittle the first day. I was never able to make peanut brittle before I found this recipe. I have shared this recipe with four other people. My mom made cashew brittle with recipe as well and turned out wonderful. I would recommend this recipe to everyone I know. Thank you so much for Aunt Gonda's Peanut Brittle Recipe.
