You can also add a can of sprite (no 7-up) and it add another great taste. FYI, we try to use a Mexican beer like Corona...

If you hate beer and hate tequila, you're going to LOVE this recipe. Honest -- there's something about mixing them with the lime juice that makes it unbelievably refreshing and delicious!!!

We've been making this drink for years, and it's always a hit! It always tastes best after a day of playing on the beach or in the sun. Even our "beer hating" friends love it. It's best to make it earlier in the day, for consumption later in the afternoon or evening. Let it sit in the fridge for several hours to give it a chance to chill and to allow the flavors to mellow. Be sure to add ice to the pitcher and shake it well before putting it in the fridge to mellow. For an added kick, make it with one can limeade, one limeade can filled with beer and one can tequila. Yummy!

For a frozen version. Get a blender. Place a frozen limeade container, a limeade container full of tequila, another full of either lager or pilsner beer, and a final 1/2 of either cointreau or Grand ma and fill with ice, preferably the "ring" shaped cubes. They break up better. run the blender and voila. This recipe got me through college!!

I've been using a beer recipe for years and I think a good beer helps to "mellow" the 'rita. One thing I do is thaw the limeade (I use the microwave) and then pour it through a fine mesh strainer to remove the lime pulp. I guess it's personal preference, but I don't like the pulp floating in my drink and clinging to the sides of the glass.
