Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Drunken Gingerbread Men Cupcakes

ingredients
1 box (18.25 ounce size) spice cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare
1 container vanilla frosting
1 teaspoon ground ginger
24 gingerbread man cookies
1 1/3 cup rum (replaces water in the recipe)
candied ginger, finely chopped
directions
Prepare your cupcakes according to the box instructions, but replace the water with rum. Stir the ground ginger into the batter, and fill your cupcake liners. Bake as directed on package.
When the cupcakes have cooled, frost them with the vanilla frosting and sprinkle the tops with the candied ginger. Add the gingerbread men in 'drunken-like' positions on top of each cupcake.
