Unwrap the joy of baking with these Christmas morning cranberry muffins. They're like little gifts of flavor, bursting with cranberries and a hint of orange, Santa-approved, of course!

1 cup fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1 egg, beaten
1/4 teaspoon finely grated orange rind
3/4 cup orange juice
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Sprinkle the cranberries with 1/4 cup sugar and set aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F, prepare pans.
Combine flour, 2nd measure sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and allspice. In another bowl combine egg, orange rind and juice and melted butter. Add dry mix to wet mix and stir to moisten. Fold in cranberry mixture and nuts.
Spoon into pans and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
