The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

I think this tastes dead on. I find the bottled Catalina to be very sweet and this one matches it pretty closely.
I don't like it. I'm not sure if we're going to use it or throw it out.
What is it you don't like about it? Just saying you don't like it isn't helpful for others reading your review.

This is close. A little too sweet. Cut the sugar down. I ended up adding more of the other ingredients to balance it out.

I decreased the sugar and thought this turned out just like Kraft's salad dressing. I use it on salads and in cooking.

This was excellent. Followed the directions from another reviewer and halved the salt, sugar and oil and added 1/2 c. water. Heated the water, vinegar & sugar until sugar dissolves. Also, added minced garlic and left out celery seed. This recipe will be a keeper!

Following the advice of other reviewers, I halved the sugar and oil, added garlic and pepper, and also added a dash of Asian red pepper sauce. It tastes just like it!

I make this with half the sugar, half the salt, half the oil (add water instead) and I boil the sugar, vinegar and water until the sugar dissolves, then add the oil, the grated onion and the dry ingredients. Finally, I add a little garlic, dried or minced, because it's on the ingredients on the Kraft Catalina bottle. If you taste test without the garlic against the real thing, you'll see what I mean.

EASY, FAST, GREAT- my 4 children devoured it! - tho i did cut the sugar in half- INSTEAD of Catsup, I put 1/3 cp tomato canned sauce-omit the catsup & u wont have to have the corn syrup thats always snuck into most foods & specifically that catsup.-mommy of 4 San Diego- & she will use again-never waste $ on it again!

WOW! My first try at making salad dressing, can't believe how fast and easy it was. Using it for cooking a recipe and the beautiful, aromatic scent of Catalina dressing fills the air. In an effort to eradicate store bought dressings and all there nasty chemicals(even propylene glycol!)I am now a convert and will always be! Thank you, thank you, thank you ! ! !

Very good! I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and consistency of this dressing. It was very close to the original (sweet and tangy), but the celery seed made it taste a bit weird. I might suggest adding some cayenne and/or black pepper if you like your Catalina a bit spicy.

This was SO fast and easy! My lil salad-devouring 9 year old says it is DELISH, and shes the pickiest dressing kid on the face of the earth so it must be true! We don't currently own a blender, but I just dumped everything into a smallish bowl that has a lid and whisked the tar out of it...it'll go right into the fridge and be tasty goodness!

It was good and a lifesaver as I didn't realize I was out of dressing. Thanks
