Crunchy Oven French Toast

ingredients
6 slices day old white or egg bread
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk, cream or buttermilk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup packaged graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup crushed cornflakes or other variety of similar cereal
sugar
cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
directions
Mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Combine cereal and graham crumbs
Dip each side of bread into milk and then into crumbs to coat both sides and place on a baking sheet or oblong pan. Place coated bread slices side by side. Liberally sprinkle on sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle over the butter.
Bake in a preheated 450 degrees F oven about 10 to 12 minutes or until golden. Serve with maple syrup or whatever you desire over your French toast.

This was just delicious and so much faster than most Sunday Brunch ideas! I also buttered the pan, for fear it might stick at such a high heat...don't pass this one up, try it, it's really good!

I made this recipe for Easter morning breakfast. It was easy to make and just delicious! I used light cream rather than milk or buttermilk. I also greased the pan with butter before I put the bread slices on it. This is the perfect recipe for the burnt out mom who wants to make something special but, just doesn't have a lot of time or energy
