ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
OR
2 tablespoons minced onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper (optional)
1 can (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
1 package (1.5 ounce size) spaghetti sauce mix
2 cans (8 ounce size) refrigerated crescent roll dough
4 slices Mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon margarine, melted
grated Parmesan cheese
black pepper
directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In a frying pan, brown the ground beef, onion and green pepper; drain. Stir in tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce mix; simmer 5 minutes.
Separate each can of crescent dough into 4 rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal.
Cut each cheese slice into fourths crosswise. Place piece of cheese on one end of crescent rectangle. Spoon about 1/4 cup meat mixture onto cheese. Top with another cheese piece. Fold dough in half over meat and cheese; press edges to seal.
Place on two ungreased cookie sheets. Brush with margarine and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
