It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

ingredients
1 bag (12 ounce size) chocolate chips
1 bag (12 ounce size) butterscotch chips
1 package (18 ounce size) chow mein noodles
2 cups salted peanuts, chopped
directions
Heat chocolate and butterscotch chips in double boiler until soft. Add chow mein noodles and peanuts. Form into balls and cool on waxed paper or just drop spoonfuls of mixture on waxed paper. Let cool until firm.
* I have used just a saucepan on low heat, stirring constantly until all the chips are melted. ** you might try your microwave.

Great recipe. I love that you do not need to buy cocoa powder for it like so many of the recipes out there for Haystacks. Some people substitute portions of the crunchy "noodles" for oatmeal, pecans or coconut.
Do you cook the noodles, or do you leave them hard? If not cooked how do you fold them as all the chow mein noodles I have dealt with have been hard and brittle. Thanks
Chow mein noodles are the baked, crunchy kind, sort of cracker/cookie like. They are in short pieces. You don't cook them.
