The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Creamy crab salad on a fluffy sandwich roll is a bite that's hard to top for texture. The salad can be made up to 24 hours in advance making these a great party dish.
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning such as Old Bay
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
6 ounces cooked crab meat, picked over for shell fragments
2 large long sandwich rolls (such as kaiser or hoagie buns), split horizontally
1 cup thinly sliced romaine lettuce
Combine the mayonnaise and seafood seasoning in a bowl and mix well. Stir in the celery, onion, and crab meat. Mix gently so the crab doesn't break up too much. Season as desired with salt and pepper.
Place the rolls on a work surface and open them up. Line the rolls with lettuce and then mound the crab salad on top. Press the sandwiches shut and serve immediately.
