ingredients
1 cup figs
2/3 cup sugar
4 slices lemon
directions
Mash figs. Mix figs with sugar, let stand for 20 minutes to form a syrup.
Slice lemon very thin, do not peel just wash and slice across rind. Add lemon slices, let stand for 20 minutes longer to allow flavors to marry.
Bring to a boil, and boil until figs are as soft as you want them. Put into sterilized jars, top with paraffin, and seal jars.
