Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Make your rice more than just a side with this creamy minute rice recipe. It's the perfect blend of simplicity and flavor, ideal for those busy nights when 'tasty' needs to be 'easy' too.

1 can (10.75 ounce size) any cream soup (mushroom, chicken, broccoli cheese, etc)
10 ounces water or milk
1 1/4 cup uncooked instant rice
Combine the soup and water (or milk) in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the soup mixture to a boil. Add the rice and stir well.
Cover the saucepan and remove the pan from the heat. Let the rice stand for 5 minutes or until all of the liquid has been absorbed.
Stir the rice and serve hot.
Use chicken broth instead of water for extra flavor.
Experiment with different cream soups to change things up.
Add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce for a more savory flavor.
For a creamier texture, use milk instead of water.
Serve as a side dish or as a base for a bowl-style meal with added protein and vegetables.
Regular rice requires a longer cooking time and more liquid, so it's best to stick with instant rice for this recipe but you can adapt it if needed.

The original "souper rice" recipe, from Campbell's back in the 70's, called for one can of rice to be used. This makes a moist and delicious rice! Really great!
