The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 1/2 pound unpeeled baking potatoes, cleaned and scrubbed
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
non-stick cooking spray
directions
Cut potatoes into 1/4" thick slices; pat dry with paper towels.
Combine onion powder, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a large zip-lock plastic bag. Add potatoes, shaking well to coat.
Arrange potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet that has been coated with cooking spray. Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until potato slices are browned and cooked through.
