under 30 minutes
ingredients
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
3 drops red food coloring
1 tablespoon baking soda
3 drops dish detergent
play dough or clay
directions
Use a small, empty yogurt container or an empty juice bottle for a base. The volcano shape itself is built around this base. Mold the dough into a volcano shape around the container. Be sure to leave the opening at the top uncovered so you can pour the mixture inside the container.
Have kids pour the water into the container, stir the baking soda, detergent, and food coloring into the mixture.
When you're ready for the "eruption," pour the vinegar into the container.
NOTE: This can be messy.
