Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I've been making this recipe for years and my family loves it

I was worried that the sour cream would curdle so I added that during the last 20 minutes of cooking just until it heated through. Simple recipe. I used chopped chicken tenders instead of whole chicken breasts though.

It didn't turn out bad but it didn't turn out what I was expecting. The chicken was moist and very good, I just didn't like the sauce.

This turned out great! Of course, I changed many parts, so kudos to the author for giving us such a flexible recipe! I subbed fat-fat Greek yogurt for the sour cream, thighs for breasts, used fat-free soup, and added two small cans mushrooms. Only cooked for 5.5 hours, and while the sauce was probably not as creamy as it would have been had I followed the recipe, it was very tasty. I would make again, and family loved it.

This recipe is delicious, especially for the men in our lives! I served it with bowtie pasta mixed with sundried tomatoes and some of the leftover sauce in the crockpot. Add the chicken on top with additional sauce and the meal is a BIG hit. We served it with a side of asparagus. Good luck!

I doubled the recipe and did one can cream of chicken and can cream of mushroom plus added a can of muschrooms. Served it over egg noodles. My family loved it and wants me to make it again.
