- add review
- #15495
under 30 minutes
ingredients
2 tablespoons groundnut or sunflower oil
2 teaspoons black mustard seeds
2 leeks, thinly sliced
1 1/2 pound cabbage, finely shredded
3 tablespoons creme fraiche
freshly ground black pepper
directions
Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok. Tip in the mustard seeds and fry quickly until they sizzle. Add the leeks and stir fry until they turn bright green, then add the cabbage and stir fry for 2-3 minutes, until the cabbage has wilted.
Season well with salt and pepper, then splash in two tablespoons of water and cover and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
Spoon the contents of the pan into a serving dish, spoon over the creme fraiche and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.

They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
