Fried Spinach Balls

ingredients
2 cups chopped cooked spinach
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons grated onions
2 tablespoons grated cheese
salt and pepper
2 eggs, divided
1 cup bread crumbs
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/4 cup water
fine dry bread crumbs
directions
Combine chopped spinach, melted butter, salt, pepper, 1 well-beaten egg, bread crumbs, onion, cheese and allspice; mix well. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, then shape into 1-inch balls.
Combine remaining egg with the 1/4 cup water and beat until well blended. Roll the spinach balls in bread crumbs, dip in egg mixture, then again in bread crumbs.
Fry in hot deep fat, about 360 degrees F, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
