1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 1/2 cup water
1 cup long grain rice
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons tomato paste
directions
In skillet, cook beef and vegetables until browned. Drain.
Stir in next 8 ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
Stir in tomato paste; heat through.
