The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons white wine
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon dried basil
directions
Combine the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until the garlic is fragrant.
Stir in the wine, rosemary, and basil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and let cook, stirring frequently, for 15 minutes.
Let the sauce cool a bit before brushing on a pizza crust.

Love buffalo wings? Get that same hot, zippy flavor in everything from deviled eggs to enchiladas. And of course: wings.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

This was delicious brushed on flatbread with just a simple sprinkling of toppings. Had a lot leftover though (one cup seems like it would be too much even for a big pizza crust). Wasn't sure what to do with it but we decided to reheat it and toss it with quartered new potatoes and roast them. WOW! Definitely a good sauce for more than just on pizza.

Had to do a cheeseless meatless pizza so I used this sauce and added chopped bell pepper and mushrooms. Went over well. Would use again.

I actually didn't use this on a pizza but rather as a dipping sauce for breadsticks. Crazy good!!!

My kid came home and said he had a white pizza at a friends house. I asked him to describe it so I could try to make something similar. I used this sauce and he said it was even better than the pizza his friend's mom made! I was going to ask her for her recipe but now I think I'll just keep this gem to myself :) I did use chicken broth instead of wine though only because I didn't want to open a bottle just for two tablespoons and it didn't seem like it would affect it by substituting. I added a shredded italian cheese blend on top but I think just plain mozz would work just fine too.

You'd use this more like a pesto kind of base than a thick sauce. That said... it's delicious! Used it on a focaccia type pizza base topped with cheese. Outstanding!

This white sauce recipe smells delicious and tastes good, but the lack of viscosity makes it a nightmare to use. It's more of a brush-on composite oil, than a pizza sauce. It is also easy to burn, so be sure to take it off the heat in plenty of time.
