Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Spicy Zucchini Cheese Bread

ingredients
1 cup all-purpose or unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup zucchini, unpeeled, coarsely shredded
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 jar (2 ounce size) pimiento, chopped, drained
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 egg
1/4 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 8 or 9 inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, onion salt and garlic powder.
In a medium bowl, combine zucchini, yogurt, pimiento, Parmesan, hot pepper sauce and egg and mix well.
Add to dry ingredients and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Spread evenly in spray coated pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Sprinkle rest of cheese over top and return to oven 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese melts.
