Chocolate Butterscotch Pie

ingredients
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups milk
6 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 egg yolks, well beaten
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 baked pie shell (9-inch)
directions
Thoroughly combine sugar, flour, and salt. Stir in milk, chocolate syrup, and beaten egg yolks. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.
Remove from fire and blend in butter and vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell and cool. Chill in refrigerator.
Serve with sweetened whipped cream if desired.
