ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce size) strawberry cake mix
1 can (14 ounce size) condensed milk
1 can frozen daiquiri mix (thawed)
1 container (8 ounce size) non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
1/2 pint strawberries

directions

Bake strawberry cake according to the directions on the box.

Then after it comes out of oven while still warm, make holes in the cake and pour condensed milk over cake. Then pour daiquiri mix over that. It will take a while for the liquid to soak into the cake.

Let in cool in refrigerator for 45 minutes or so and then cover with whipped topping and then top with sliced strawberries. Refrigerate.

My son asked for this for his birthday cake last year and my first thought was, how in the world did he know what a strawberry daiquiri was my second was how am i going to make it. So I found this recipe and it was a major hit! So when he asked for it again this year, I knew we had a winner. I followed the directions to a tee and it came out perfect. I did make sure to follow others suggestions to not mix the milk and daiquiri mix together or else it would come out soggy. I had no trouble with this cake and apparently it's going to be an annual Christmas in July cake!

I made this for my grandmother's birthday. I made two, in fact, and nothing went to waste! :) It was a great recipe because I made it a day ahead, toppping it with whipped cream just prior to serving.

  7. k3 REVIEW:

This is one of the best strawberry cakes I have ever had. (I used white cake mix instead of stawberry.) Everyone loved this cake, kids and seniors and it didn't last long.
