ingredients
1 pound green beans, washed and trimmed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 small onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon sugar
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
directions
Sprinkle green beans with salt, and arrange in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 10 minutes or until crisp tender.
Saute onion in 1 Tbsp hot oil in a skillet over medium heat until tender. Add sugar and cook over low heat 5 to 7 minutes until golden. Add chopped garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add pepper and green beans, tossing to coat.
Drizzle evenly with remaining 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil.
