4 cups sugar (cane sugar)
1/4 pound butter to grease pans
1 1/3 cup corn syrup
2 cups water
directions
Boil to hard crack 290 degrees F, then pour into chilled and buttered pie plates or baking pans. Cut while still pliable with grape shears.
Here's what you use to color the candies:
Sassafras (violet); cinnamon (X-mas red); anise (pink); coconut (no color); wintergreen (moss green).
