ingredients
1 teaspoon shortening
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 cups flaked coconut
directions
Heat shortening and chocolate chips in a 2 quart saucepan over low heat stirring until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in coconut. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls on to wax paper lined baking sheet. Chill until firm; about 30 minutes. Store candy tightly covered in refrigerator.
Variation: substitute macadamia nuts for the coconut
