ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Fudge Filling

1 can (14 ounce size) sweetened condensed milk
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts

directions

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture.

Spread 2/3 in the bottom of an ungreased 15x10x1" baking pan; set aside.

For filling, heat milk, chocolate chips, butter and salt in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until melted. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and walnuts. Spread over oat mixture in pan. Drop remaining oat mixture by tablespoonfuls over chocolate.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.

  1. sbussis REVIEW:

Delicious and very easy! I left out the walnuts.

This recipe sounded to good to be true. I entered all the ingredients in a Nutritrion Fact Calculator, and the real Nutritrional Facts are about 5 times the amounts posted with the recipes. Beware if Diabetic or on any Low Fat diet. Yikes.

    • You might want to check your calculations. I just plugged this recipe into Mastercook and it came out very close to what is posted. Actual nutritional values will vary greatly based on brands you use too.
