ingredients
2 cups flour
2 eggs
2 pounds ricotta cheese
2 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons sugar
enough shortening to half fill deep fryer
powdered sugar to sprinkle over fried balls
directions
Mix first 5 ingredients with a hand mixer.
Heat shortening to 450 degrees F. Spoon mixture into hot shortening 5 or 6 at a time. When they rise to the surface and they are golden, remove to a dish lined with paper towels to absorb excess shortening.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy.
