This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

If you're a sucker for a good roast beef sandwich, ditch the drive-thru and grab your crockpot. Brown sugar and onion soup mix make for a crazy good roast. Top away with queso, horseradish sauce, or BBQ as you wish.

3 pounds roast beef
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 package onion soup mix
1/2 cup water
1 chopped onion
1 pinch garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste
8 onion rolls
Put roast in the crockpot with brown sugar, onion soup mix, water, chopped onion, garlic powder and salt and pepper.
Let it cook for 24 hours. I usually start it after dinner in the evening, then stir it in the morning.
By dinner that night - it's ready! It's great on onion buns!

are you sure it is a 24 hour cooking time recipe.when i made it ,it all dried up.what a waste of good beef.im woundering if the cooking time is off by a whole bunch
This recipe has been around a long time so it's meant for crock pots that cook on "true" low (many newer models don't cook low enough). Sounds like your crock pot cooks at a higher temperature than will work for this type of recipe. You could try cooking it on low for part of the time and then switching it to "warm" for the rest of the time if your crock pot has that option.
