Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

1 box (18.25 ounce size) white cake mix
1 can whole berry cranberry sauce
chocolate frosting
powdered sugar
red food coloring
In a medium bowl, combine the cranberry sauce with the cake mix. This takes a little muscle to get it all combined and will feel almost like bubble gum when it's ready. Once the batter is well combined, mix in the red food coloring.
Roll small spoonfuls of the batter into powdered sugar. The second it touches the sugar, all the stickiness goes away, so roll it in there good.
Lightly press to flatten them just a little, place onto a parchment lined baking sheet a couple of inches apart. Bake them at 350 degrees F for about 12-15 minutes, until they are firm, and crackly.
Let cool, and take 2 like sized cookies and sandwich them together with the frosting!
The food coloring is necessary for vibrancy, keep adding it to the batter, until your eyes are happy!

What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

I wanted sort of a red velvet whoopie pie and the ingredients here were what I had on hand. Although I used the jellied cranberry sauce. The red food coloring left my hands very red so wear gloves!!! Wish I had thought of that BEFORE I stuck my hands in the batter. The whoopie pies were very good though. Would probably use white frosting next time though.
