Pizza night is always a favorite, especially when you have great tasting pizza from some of the most popular restaurants.

Don't miss out on the magic (and romance) of fondue just because you don't have a fondue pot. A good old crockpot works like a charm for making this melty mixture of Fontina and Gruyere.

3/4 cup dry white wine
8 ounces shredded Gruyere cheese
8 ounces shredded Fontina cheese
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
Focaccia or French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
Add the wine to the crock pot. Turn the heat to high and let the wine heat, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until it is very warm (it will need to be warm enough to melt the cheese).
When the wine is heated, combine the gruyere, fontina, flour, and mustard in a bowl and mix until well blended and the cheese is coated in the flour.
Add 1 cup of the cheese mixture to the heated wine. Stir to completely coat the cheese in the wine. Let sit on high heat, uncovered, until melted (stir once or twice).
When melted, and another measure of cheese. Continue adding cheese after each addition has melted.
To serve the fondue, turn the heat to low. Serve bread cubes with fondue forks for dipping.

This Italian cheese is so versatile that it can be used in both sweet and savory recipes from cheesecakes to lasagnas.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

I had my doubts as the gruyere smelled like... odd... Iâve always been a fan of fontina. I bought my cheese locally from Carr Valley Cheese in LaValle, WI. The two cheeses really complimented each other. This recipe was simple, but outstanding. I saw a couple others that required similar ingredients, but you had to pet the cow a certain way, and dance semi nude in the moonlight. This by slfar was the easiest and most delicious.

This is a great way to have fondue when you don't have a fondue pot. We just moved and haven't unpacked everything and I have no idea where my fondue pot is but I did find my crock pot. This was a wonderful treat after eating takeout for the past week because of the move.
