Quick Start Black-Eyed Pea Soup

ingredients
2 cans black eyed peas
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped (more to taste if desired)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup smoked ham pieces, chopped into bite size
1 can rotel tomatoes and chiles
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon Cavender's Greek seasoning
season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper
directions
In soup pot, saute onion in olive oil until tender, then add garlic and saute briefly. Add all other ingredients and bring to slow simmer. Cook for 10 minutes.
Great served with french bread!
