Bizcochuelo (Sweet Bread)
- add review
- #99053

30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup powdered chocolate (or vanilla)
3 eggs
1/4 cup cream
directions
Mix all the dry ingredients. Add the eggs and last the cream. Mix very well!
Cook in the oven at a medium temperature (325 degrees F) for 40 minutes. Check the bread often, poking it with a knife.
The bizcochuelo will be ready when the knife comes out dry.
You can replace the chocolate for vanilla to make a vanilla bizcochuelo. Tastes great if you cover it in dulce de leche!

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
