Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
Chocolate Caramel Fingers

ingredients
Crust
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
Filling
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large chocolate bar
directions
For Crust: Mix butter and sugar, then add flour. Press into a 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until golden brown on edges.
For Filling: In a saucepan, melt butter, milk and syrup. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Spread over crust and let cool.
Melt chocolate bar (or chocolate chips) on top. Let chocolate set and cut into squares.
