ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
1 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 3/4 cup chocolate mini baking bits, divided
1 1/2 cup chopped pecans, divided
1 jar (12 ounce size) caramel ice cream topping
directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine 1 cup flour, oats, sugar, baking soda and salt. Blend in melted butter to form a crumbly mixture. Press half the crumb mixture onto the bottom of a 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with 1 cup chocolate mini baking bits and 1 cup nuts. Blend remaining 6 tablespoons flour with caramel topping and pour over the top.
Combine remaining crumb mixture, remaining chocolate mini baking bits and remaining nuts. Sprinkle over caramel layer. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
