ingredients
1 package (6 ounce size) semisweet chocolate chips
1 can (5 ounce size) evaporated milk
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 quart chocolate or vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup sliced, toasted almonds
1 graham cracker pie crust (9" size)

Combine chocolate chips, evaporated milk and marshmallows in a heavy saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until marshmallows melt. Cool completely.
Layer half of the ice cream in the bottom of the pie crust. Top with half the chocolate sauce then the other half of the ice cream, then the remainder of the sauce. Sprinkle toasted almonds over the top. Cover and freeze until pie is firm, about 3-4 hours.
Let stand at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving. Slice with a knife that's been dipped in warm water to warm it. Garnish with whipped cream and additional almonds, if desired.
