The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Thin bagel slices are coated with butter and sprinkled with dried oregano before baking. They make great snacks by themselves or are great as dippers with your favorite dip.
1 plain bagel
2 teaspoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Slice the bagel into thin rounds about 1/4-inch thick. Place the bagel thins on a baking sheet.
Brush the bagel thins with the melted butter and sprinkle with oregano.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 12 minutes or until the bagel thins are browned.
Remove the bagel thins to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the cooled bagel thins in an airtight container for up to 1 week at room temperature.
Instead of oregano try garlic powder, everything bagel seasoning, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, or other spices or spice blends.

Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

Just for ease of the slice and not cutting myself, I slice the bagels across the the hole, then quarter turn them and continue slicing. Space is unique and works just as well for cheeses, with dips, and by themselves.

I was having trouble finding unsliced bagels in the bread aisle so I went to the bakery section where they only had the "everything" bagels. I think commercial plain bagels (unsliced) would work better . They are a bit smaller and would slice more evenly. The bakery bagels were very good but bigger than commercially made bagels and slicing them into rounds ended up with some uneven pieces. I used olive oil spray instead of margarine (too lazy to brush all the pieces with it). I also flipped the bagel pieces over half way through the cooking time and sprayed with more olive oil and sprinkled with more oregano so they'd be more evenly seasoned. Great recipe! Used the bagel chips with a baked onion dip. You could easily use other seasonings and really customize the flavors.
