I brought this cake to a party and everyone loved it. In fact I got an e-mail from the hostess, telling me about all the compliments it received. The first time I made it, it was very good, but the second time (with very few changes, it was great. I increased the sugar to one and a third cups. I used 3 eggs instead of two. I used Lucky Leaf brand PREMIUM cherry pie filling (they make both regular and premium). It's 21 ounces instead of the 16 ounces called for in the recipe, but I used it all and I don't think it matters which size you use. I used walnuts for the topping. It's become a staple in our house!!!
