Caribbean Spice Mix

Caribbean island flavors at a moment's notice. Keep this spice mix on hand for rubbing chicken and fish, or tossing into coconut curries. It masterfully walks the line between sweet and spicy while being all the way flavorful.

ingredients

1/4 cup ground turmeric
2 tablespoons ground coriander
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
2 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

directions

Combine all the ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to 4 months.

Use on chicken, pork, fish, etc. Works well in place of curry powder.

    1/4 cup of turmeric? Is that a typo?

    • As submitted, the recipe makes 1/2 cup and you'd only use small amounts as a seasoning, so I'm going to have to assume that the amount is correct.
