Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Peach & Blueberry Jam

ingredients
4 cups chopped peaches
4 cups fresh blueberries
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 1/2 cups sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon whole allspice
directions
Combine berries and peaches and add lemon juice and water; cover, bring to boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add sugar, salt and spices in a bag. Boil rapidly until thickens.
Remove from heat and remove spice bag. Pour into sterilized half-pint jars.
