Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

This is one of those great never fail recipes. It is simple to do. My oven is a little off so I double the recipe and put the batter into three 8x3x2 aluminum loaf pans. Even with the oven set at 325 it tended to burn when I used a whole metal loaf pan. I always have someone who is requesting it. I found this in Oct. of 2011 and have made so many of these I can't count. I found that the corn syrup brushed on top while the bread is still warm puts a nice little glaze on the top. I have used both dark and light syrup with no real difference between the two. I like to have some of this in the freezer for when folks drop by. It will keep up to a month. This makes a nice "little something" gift.

I tried this recipe Sunday 12/2/07 I will have to give it a 5 star rating.I did not put corn syrup over it. It was really great without it.
