ingredients

2 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 pound pork steak, cut into strips
1 large onion, chopped
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
1 can (4 ounce size) sliced mushrooms, drained
1 can (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
rice or noodles, cooked

directions

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the pork strips, stirring to cook on all sides.

Remove the pork from the skillet and drain, if needed, on paper towels.

Place the pork in the crock pot. Add the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms.

Combine the tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl until well mixed. Pour evenly over the pork and vegetables in the crock pot.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

When cooked, serve the pork, vegetables, and sauce over cooked rice or noodles.

To bake in the oven, place the mixture in a greased casserole dish and bake for 2 hours at 350 degrees F or until the pork is tender.

I skip the vinegar but otherwise make it as directed. Always turns out really good.

Mine is simmering in the Crockpot. One of my Daughters does not like mushrooms. I put buttons in so she can pick them out. Any good recommendations for a mushroom substitute???
